Did the Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e get a bigger battery? New! Did they perhaps get more efficient electric motors? Also no! Opel has squeezed the Corsa-e and Mokka-e to the limit with just a few modest interventions. And that results in up to 22 kilometers of extra range.

Under the skin, the Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e are largely the same. They have a 136 hp and 260 Nm electric motor and get their power from a 50 kWh battery. Previously, the Corsa-e had a range of up to 337 kilometers on paper. Bigger brother Mokka-e already stopped 20 kilometers earlier.
Opel Corsa-e and Mokka-e are up to 22 kilometers further
But that has now improved. According to Opel, the Corsa-e and Mokka-e guarantee 359 and 338 kilometers respectively after a few upgrades. Note that this is a WLTP statement. In our field test, the actual range of the current Corsa-e was more than 40 kilometers lower than the factory says (at a constant speed of 100 km/h).
Tires with low rolling resistance and better heating / air conditioning
Nevertheless, Opel has made good gains, mainly by installing tires with even lower rolling resistance and optimizing the efficiency of the heating and air conditioning. Opel also says it has adjusted the transmission ratio.
