Tesla is no longer taking orders for the Model S and Model X outside the United States. The reason? Tesla is having a hard time fulfilling existing orders. Some customers have been waiting for over a year for the Model S or Model X they ordered.

In January, Tesla halted production of the Model S and Model X. This is to prepare the assembly line for the updated versions, which were introduced in mid-2021. The new Model S has been rolling out of the factory since June, the Model X followed in October. However, issues have arisen, causing Tesla to struggle to fulfill existing orders.

No more European orders for Tesla Model S and Model X

And that’s why there is now a stop on orders outside of North America. So you can’t place an order for a Tesla Model S or Model X at the moment (not that many people in the Netherlands still do that…). If you already have a car on order, it won’t be delivered until mid-2022, according to an email Tesla sent to European customers (via Electrek).
