Apple has made the Reminders app a lot better in iOS 26. With the new ‘Urgent’ option you will certainly no longer forget appointments. The option ensures that you also receive a reminder when a focus is active or the sound on your iPhone is turned off.

If you set a reminder to Urgent, your iPhone will actually treat it that way. In practice, it feels as if you are giving the important memory a kind of VIP status. This is of course perfect for things that cannot be left behind, such as renewing your passport, a deadline for school or work, or that dentist appointment that you would otherwise have to reschedule.

Setting up is quite simple. While creating or adjusting a reminder, you can set the slider for ‘Urgent’ to on. To do this, follow the steps below:

Set an urgent reminder on your iPhone

  1. Open the ‘Reminders’ app;

  2. Tap the plus sign in the blue dot;

  3. Enter the details of the reminder and set the slider for ‘Urgent’ to on.

Biggest change in iOS 26

The most noticeable new feature of iOS 26 is the so-called Liquid Glass-design. This ‘glass’ appearance gives your iPhone a new look with a modern, transparent appearance.

The effect can be seen, among other things, in app icons, some of which have a transparent or glass-like background. Widgets and notifications have also been updated and given a new look. They have become transparent so that the background remains subtly visible, as if you were looking through it.
