The iPhone 17 Air is going to get a feature that it was first thought of would only be on the pro models. You can expect this!
This pro-feature is still coming to the iPhone 17 Air
There are more and more rumors about the iPhone 17 series and in particular about the new device, the iPhone 17 Air. We now know that this iPhone becomes very thin. In fact, it is only slightly thicker than the side buttons of the device according to the last leaked photos.
But usually reliable Apple connoisseur Ming-Chi Kuo says that the iPhone 17 Air also get a feature that was thought that it was only for specific Pro models. Kuo says that the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Air will get both 12 GB of memory. That in contrast to earlier reports that only the iPhone 17 Pro Max would get this upgrade.
The upgrade to 12 GB may not seem that much, but thanks to increasing the working memory, more Apple Intelligence features would be possible on the iPhone 17 Air and Pro models.

The current iPhones such as the iPhone 16 have ‘only’ 8 GB of memory. That is also the minimum requirement that Apple makes to enable Apple Intelligence on the iPhone. And that is also the reason why Apple’s AI is not available on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. Those devices have 6 GB of memory.
Apple seems to skimp on a few functions at the iPhone 17 Air. For example, instead of two cameras (or three at the pro devices) you only have a single lens. Although this will be decent 48-megapixel camera, you will miss the extra options that a second lens give you.
iPhone 17 Air Release
Apple will present the iPhone 17 (and therefore the iPhone 17 Air) during the keynote in September. Apple will probably also show the Apple Watch Series 11, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and the AirPods Pro 3.
