This trick makes the agenda app more convenient than ever

When iOS 18 appeared, the agenda app got a few functions. For example, the appearance of the app was updated and an improved monthly overview came. But not all functions are immediately visible. The monthly overview also contains a hidden function that is secretly quite handy.

We have to be honest: the monthly overview was not very useful on the iPhone with old versions of the app. You got the date with small colored balls for your appointments, and That’s it. You did not see any further details about your agreements made.

In iOS 18 you can now switch between three different overviews for the month: compact, stacked and details. You will find these options at the top right (the third icon from the right) in the overview.

However, there is still a way to switch between the different mode. When you have the monthly overview you can zoom in or out by squeezing or spreading your fingers. This will make more monthly overviews available that you do not have with the options at the top right. The different overviews are described below.

  • When you are in compact mode you see all appointments as dots;
  • If you zoom out something, switch to the ‘stacked’ overview. Here you see your agreements as different colored beams;
  • By zooming out a little further, the names of your agreements also appear;
  • If you zoom out a little further, then the times are also included;
  • To give the days more space you can zoom out a little more.
