Apple has made some changes to the Reminders app, especially with regard to the synchronization of memos via iCloud. A good time to take a closer look at the app.
iCloud.com has been given a new interface that is more in line with the iOS 13 design. The icons have become smaller, the user environment is more colorful, while the blue background has been replaced by a transparent white one. Extra options such as Storage, Share with family and Search my [apparaat] can now be found at the account settings.
You can now also access iCloud.com via iOS and iPadOS devices and the Reminders app has also been given new functionalities. You can synchronize your memories with iCloud via iOS 13, iPadOS and macOS Catalina.
To work
Creating memories is very simple. To do this, go to the Reminders app, click on the list to which you want to add the reminder or add a list, and then tap New reminder (plus icon).
While entering a reminder, you can also set an end date and add a location, via the icons above your keyboard. With the clock you choose an end date, for example This weekend. You will then receive a notification of your reminder during the weekend. If you want to receive that notification at a specific time, you can click on the info icon behind the reminder and set a time.
With the arrow for the location, you can set a notification based on the location where you are. Do you have to go to the supermarket and you cannot forget to take a certain message with you? Then set the relevant supermarket as the location. Your iPhone will recognize when you are in the supermarket, after which you will be notified. Make sure that your location facilities are switched on via the settings of your telephone.
In addition to the clock and the arrow for the location facilities, you will also find a flag and a camera. You can use this to mark a reminder as important or to add a photo.
It is also useful to enable a notification when you start a conversation with someone. Suppose you have to transfer an amount to a friend next month, then you can use the option Show when I chat switch. The next time you are in conversation with him or her via the Messages app, you will receive a notification of this reminder in that conversation. Useful!
Sync reminders
Do you want to access all your memories on all your devices? First log in via iCloud.com and click on the Reminders icon. From there you can access all your memories and every modification you make will be implemented directly on all your Apple devices. If you update your memories on the train on your iPhone, you can then continue where you left off in the office behind your MacBook.
Thanks to the synchronization option within iCloud, you can now also share reminders with, for example, friends or colleagues, who can supplement or edit them or tick as completed. You can do this by clicking on the three horizontal dots in your created lists at the top right and then clicking on Add people.
