This way you reduce Snapchat’s battery consumption

As fun as Snapchat is to use, if you want to make your iPhone’s battery last as long as possible, it’s smart to use these tips.

Save Snapchat battery: two useful tips

If you look at the battery settings, you will see that Snapchat is often active in the background to keep you informed of the latest Snaps. Not bad if you are regularly near an electrical outlet during the day, but annoying if you want the battery of your iPhone to last as long as possible.

Activate Snapchat travel mode

Fortunately, there are two quick ways to keep Snapchat’s battery consumption under control. The first has Snapchat itself built in and can be found in the settings.

Tap the white ghost, then tap the gear to open the settings. Then go to ‘Manage’ under ‘Additional Services’ and finally set the switch behind ‘Travel mode’ to green.

Snapchat’s travel mode reduces Snapchat’s data usage, but also helps to keep the app’s battery usage in check. As soon as you are back home or have a battery at your disposal, you can switch the travel mode off again in the same way.

Turn off background refresh

Another tip to reduce your Snapchat battery consumption goes outside of Snapchat and can be found in the settings of your iPhone. Go to Settings on your iPhone, choose ‘General’ and then go to ‘Refresh in background’. Then scroll through your list of apps until you get to Snapchat and turn the switch off to save your battery.

By turning off the refresh in the background of Snapchat, you save a lot of battery in one fell swoop, but this means that you have to wait longer when starting up until all new messages are loaded.

We do not recommend that these two tips are always on, but only if a few extra percent of battery is the difference between a full and empty iPhone.
