Before the new week starts, let’s take a look back at the past few days. The iPhonededitors have rounded up this week’s best iPhone apps and updates for you.
This week’s best iPhone apps and games
The App Store is working overtime every week. New apps, updates to existing programs and all kinds of games are popping up all the time. You will probably not notice this much, because most of it is not worth downloading. Every Sunday separates iPhoned therefore the wheat chaff. Here are the best iPhone apps and updates from last week.
1. Northgard
Combine Vikings with a strategy game: that’s Northgard. The game is already out on PC and consoles like the Nintendo Switch, but is now also making its debut as a mobile game. You play as a group of Vikings who discover the land of Northgard.
Here you try to settle down with your group. You hand out jobs, provide new resources and more. This is how you develop your settlement into a large city. The high-quality game costs a few euros, but for that you get a very nice game in return.
2. Smash Legends
In Smash Legends you try to eliminate your opponent in the arena as quickly as possible. There are several combat modes, such as a duel, three against three or even an eight-player battle royale.
You choose from ten fairytale characters, each with their own skills. Choose your team strategically to get the highest score. If you download the app within a week, you will also receive some extra items.
3. Murder Mystery Machine
The final chapter of Apple Arcade puzzle game Murder Mystery Machine was added this week. The chapter contains the denouement of the case that the characters are working on.
There are five new mysteries to solve in five different locations. You also have to make an important moral decision, which can have major consequences. If you have Apple Arcade, this is definitely an exciting game that you must try.
4. Anagraphs
If you like word games, give Anagraphs a try. Here you search for words in anagrams, but the app gives it an extra twist: some letters are different when you flip them.
For example, a W becomes an M, a P a D and so on. By rotating the letters you can make many more words and therefore also gain more points. Anagraphs is a simple, relaxing game with no time limit.
5. Muses
The new Musens app is a music app that is an excellent alternative to Apple Music. The app is easy to use and fully compatible with iPhone and the Apple Music app.

Any song locally on your iPhone or in the Music app can be played in Musens with ease. The app works with widgets on your home screen and supports AirPlay. The app also has a dark mode.
