The Notes app on your iPhone and Mac comes in handy for shopping lists and short pieces. But you can also work well with superiors. We will show you how iPhone note sharing works.
Collaborate and share iPhone notes
In a few years, Apple has expanded the Notes app into a useful service with many side functions. Today we zoom in on collaborating in the same note with multiple people. Handy for school projects, but also if you keep a shopping list with a partner or roommates.
When someone makes a change to a shared note, it is automatically reflected on other people’s devices as well. With a yellow dot, the app shows when someone else is working on a file.
Before you can share a note, there are a few things to check:
- Make sure your iPhone, iPad and Mac are up to date. The feature works from iOS 10 and macOS Sierra and above;
- Activate iCloud on all your devices;
- Log in with the same Apple ID on your devices.
Once you have completed the steps above, it is easy to use iPhone note sharing.
This way you can share and collaborate on an iPhone note
- Open the Notes app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac;
- Choose the Note you want to share;
- Tap the circular icon at the top right of the screen next to the share icon;
- Choose the app you want to share the Note with;
- Enter the names of the people you want to add;
- Choose ‘Continue’;
- Share the note via a link and wait for the other to accept it.
As you can see, your iPhone will automatically suggest multiple apps where you can share the Note. If your favorite messaging app is not listed here, you can generate a link via ‘Copy link’ that you can then paste into an app of your choice.
Delete people
Is the school project ready or do you want to remove someone from your shared note for some other reason? Then tap the icon with the silhouette in the relevant note. A list will then appear with all persons who are active in the Note. Tap a name and Stop Sharing and confirm to remove the person from it. In this way you can also add new people.
