In honor of Safer Internet Day, you get 2GB extra storage space with Google Drive. All you have to do is go through the security check of your Google account.
Get additional Google Drive storage

During Safer Internet Day, attention is drawn to the safe use of online technologies, which of course also include cloud services such as Google Drive. Google Drive users have an additional incentive to pass the security check as they are rewarded with 2GB of additional cloud storage space.
Through this link go to your Google account settings, where you will see the message ‘Time for your security check’. On this page you can view a few different security elements of your account. It starts with the recovery information. This concerns your telephone number, an e-mail address and a security question. Then check the devices associated with your Google account. These can be your PC / Mac, smartphone or tablet. If there are no strange devices in between, press ‘That looks good’.
After this you can see which apps, websites and services use your account. In addition, it is smart to revoke account rights from services that you no longer use. Finally, it is possible to provide additional security for your account by means of two-step verification. This means that a text message is sent to your phone when you or someone else tries to log in to a new device. By entering the security code in the SMS, you show that it is you. It is an easy way to prevent malicious parties from gaining access to your account.
Once you have completed all the steps, you will see the message ‘In honor of Safer Internet Day 2016, we added 2GB of free Drive storage to your Google account because you completed the security check’.
