Simultaneously with the Apple Watch Series 6 and Apple Watch SE, Apple also introduced two new bands: the Soloband and the Braided Soloband. These new designs do not have a buckle or other closure and must therefore be ordered exactly to size. This is how you find your ideal band size.
This is how you find your size for the new Apple Watch Soloband
The two Solo straps are available in nine strap sizes. Apple offers a printable tool online that you can use to find your ideal size. Very handy, because that way you avoid the hassle of exchanging or returning.
Apple’s tool is the easiest way to check your ideal band size. Here’s how to use Apple’s printable ‘band aid’:
- On the Apple order page, select the option Solo Band or Braided Solo Band;
- Choose which case size you want (40mm / 44mm) and tap on “Measure which size strap you need”;
- Select “Download the sample”;
- Make sure the page in your printer options is set to 100 percent. In addition, keep in mind that the page is also scaled out of scale, because only then will the print version get the correct proportions. Check? Then press ‘Print’;
- Cut out the printed band and wrap the paper aid tightly around your wrist and tape it if necessary;
- Make sure the paper strap is tight and does not move too much;
- The arrows on the ‘dial’ now point to a number: that is your personal band size;
- If the arrows point to a dash, exactly between two numbers, then you choose the lowest number;
- You should now have found the right size.
No printer or ink at home? This way you can still measure
Is your printer out of ink for a while? Or do you not have a printer at all? Don’t worry, there is another way to find your ideal Solo bandmate:
- Grab a tape measure and wrap it tightly around your wrist;
- Make a note of the size and select the option “Solo Band” or “Braided Solo Band” on the Apple order page;
- Choose “Measure which size strap you need” and tap “Object from your house”;
- Select “Done. And now?” and enter the size you wrote down. Be precise and use a decimal number;
- Tap on “Determine the right size for your band”;
- The most suitable size for you will now appear.
Don’t have a tape measure at home? Then cut out a thin strip about half a centimeter wide. Wrap it tightly around your wrist and mark where the ends overlap. Then accurately measure the distance between the tip and the mark with a ruler. Enter this number in step 5 of the above step-by-step plan.
Did you still choose the wrong size, despite all your efforts? No worries. Apple now allows you to return the strap only. At first this was not possible and users had to return the entire watch, which caused a lot of outrage.
The Apple Watch Series 6 is the successor to the Series 5. The Apple smartwatch is packed with unique health functions, including a pulse oximeter to measure the oxygen value in your blood. Simultaneously with the Series 6, Apple has also unveiled an all-new, cheaper watch: the Apple Watch SE. It is still quite difficult to choose between these two brand new smart watches, we have listed the most important differences between the Apple Watch Series 6 and SE for you.
