Usually you can do one or two days with the battery of your Apple Watch, regardless of which version you have. If your battery is almost empty, you can activate the battery saving mode. We show you how it works.

Tip: This is how you turn on the power saving mode on your Apple Watch

The power save mode can be useful when your battery is low and you don’t have a charger nearby. This mode ensures that your Watch requires considerably less power, so that it can still function on that last bit of power. Follow the step-by-step plan below to enable it.

  1. Swipe up on your Watch to open Control Center;
  2. Tap the battery percentage and swipe the green button to the right;
  3. Choose ‘Continue’, after which the power saving mode will be activated.

It is good to know that your Apple Watch only displays the time in low-power mode. All other functions of the device are disabled; also the pedometer and heart rate monitor do not work. You also have to press the side button to turn on the screen. Turning your wrist to activate the screen is therefore off.

Do you want to switch off the energy-saving mode? Then press and hold the side button until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Your watch will then start up as normal. This can take a while, because your smartwatch will be restarted completely this way.
