Toyota and Tesla most valuable car brands in the world

Every year, Interbrand lists the most valuable brands in the world according to the market research firm. The list is compiled on the basis of the financial performance, the strength of the brand compared to the competition and the role of the brand in the choice of the target group. Apple can call itself the most valuable brand in the world. Apple’s brand value is estimated by Interbrand at approximately $351 billion. Toyota is the highest ranked car brand in the list and is in seventh place with an estimated brand value of €46.5 billion.

After Toyota, Mercedes-Benz is the highest ranked car brand. With a brand value estimated by Interbrand at around €44 billion, Mercedes-Benz is in eighth place in the entire list. With a brand value of €35.7 billion, BMW is in third place in the list of car brands, ahead of Tesla. Interbrand estimates Tesla’s brand value at $32.2 billion. That is no less than 184 percent more than last year. Honda is in fifth place with an estimated brand value of €18.3 billion.

Interbrand isn’t the only research firm that ranks brands by brand value. Market research agency Kantar, among others, draws up a comparable list every year. This year’s results from Kantar are not Toyota, but Tesla in number one. Kantar estimates Tesla’s brand value at $36 billion. That’s enough to push Kantar’s Toyota (€25.8 billion) ranking into second place. While Kantar’s list of most valuable brands has completely different amounts, the Top 5 is otherwise very similar to Interbrand’s.
