Toyota announces new Land Cruiser

The European branch of Toyota is sending out a series of photos of type designations from different generations of Land Cruiser, asking if you are ready for your next adventure. Of course, that can only mean one thing: Toyota will soon draw the curtain on a new Land Cruiser (Prado). That is, and not surprising.

Toyota is very likely hinting with its brief message to the arrival of a new generation of the Land Cruiser Prado. The bigger one full size After all, Land Cruiser – of which there is also a Lexus alternative – was already helped to a completely new generation in 2019. It could of course be that Toyota has the version of that model intended for the European market behind the scenes. However, it is more likely that Toyota will soon drum up a successor to the current Land Cruiser Prado (J150). After all, that model – which is simply called Land Cruiser in large parts of Europe – has been around since 2009 and has been facelifted several times. So it is not surprising that Toyota will soon inject that model with fresh blood. However, the fact that this is happening now is remarkable.

Why? Well now. The Land Cruiser Prado has an equivalent of Lexus in the form of the GX. Earlier generations of the Lexus GX appeared after the original from Toyota. This time, however, the Lexus GX was earlier. Recently, however, we were already digitally acquainted with that completely new GX. It seems that the ‘version’ of Toyota follows the GX at this generation change. It is not yet known when Toyota will release more of what it has in store for Land Cruiser.

The current Land Cruiser (Prado) is available in the Netherlands as a three- and five-door and has a starting price of €112,295.
