The Toyota C-HR will have a brother in the C-segment: the Toyota Corolla Cross. The emphasis in this SUV is on comfort, space and functionality.
Toyota unveiled three new models at an event yesterday. One of them is the Toyota Corolla Cross, an SUV that completes the hatchback, wagon and sedan family. Toyota already has an SUV crossover in the C-segment, namely the C-HR. It is distinguished by its specific design. The Corolla Cross emphasizes comfort, space and functionality.
The new SUV is 4,460 meters long, 1,825 meters wide and 1,620 meters high. The wheelbase is 2,640 meters. Large door openings make it easy to get in and out. The luggage compartment is also easily accessible due to the low sill and wide opening. The Corolla Cross sits on the GA-C platform, the same as the C-HR believed for the driving pleasure that the underbody offers.
New generation of hybrid technology
Toyota equips the Corolla Cross with the new fifth-generation hybrid technology. It offers more torque and more electrical power and is more economical to drive. The system power of the 2.0 Hybrid powertrain has increased to 145 kW / 197 hp. Acceleration is now more linear and predictable as speed is more closely matched to engine speed. The battery pack has also been further developed. It’s more powerful than before while being 40 percent lighter.

The car also has the latest technology. The 12.3-inch dashboard is digital, the 10.5-inch multimedia display belonging to Toyota Smart Connect offers various personalization options. Cloud navigation is one of the options, as are Android Auto, wireless Apple CarPlay and over-the-air software updates.
The well-known Toyota Safety Sense safety systems can now be enhanced with driving and parking assistance systems, thanks to the debuting T-Mate function. For example, this buddy offers a blind spot function when using Safety Exit Assist or with Toyota Teammate Advanced Park. Toyota plans the arrival of the SUV Corolla Cross to the Netherlands in the autumn of 2022.
