Toyota never stops. It digitally presents another study model that it will bring to the Japan Mobility Show, which opens its gates in Tokyo next week. However, this newcomer is a lot more concrete than the study models it previously announced.

Toyota is bringing a wide range of concept cars to the Japan Mobility Show. It looks ahead to an electric sports coupe, an electric crossover and shows its vision on mobility with the Kayoibako Concept. Toyota Auto Body also shows a number of study models there. But there’s more. This is the Toyota IMV 0 Concept.

To be fair, it is not the first time we have seen the Toyota IMV 0 Concept. The car already debuted in Thailand at the end of 2022, side by side with the Toyota Hilux Revo BEV Concept, and the Indonesian branch of Toyota lifted the compact commercial vehicle onto the stage in August as the Rangga Concept. The small pick-up is once again in the spotlight during the Japan Mobility Show. Wondering what the letters and numbers in his name stand for? Well: Innovative International Multi-purpose Vehicle 0.

Toyota IMV 0

Ready for various types of construction.

The Toyota IMV 0 Concept is a 5.3 meter long compact pick-up with two seats that is suitable for numerous applications. It has a wheelbase of 3.09 meters and that is quite large. Big brother Toyota Hilux is available with a 2.75 meter long wheelbase and in a longer variant that also has 3.09 meters between the front and rear axle. According to Toyota, the IMV 0 Concept is highly configurable. According to the brand, numerous types of superstructures are conceivable on the frame behind the cabin. For example, the commercial vehicle must not only be usable as a pick-up, but must also be able to serve as a basis for food trucks, campers and as a car for emergency services. The fact that Toyota has already shown the IMV 0 Concept several times in fairly production-ready form undoubtedly indicates that it has big plans for the final production version. We expect that next year.
