The fine amounts for 2021 have been presented by Minister Ferd Grapperhaus to the Lower House by letter. It is not shocking news: the government applies an inflation correction of 1.6 percent, causing the amounts to rise slightly.
The letter sent by Minister Grapperhaus to the House of Representatives concerns the draft decision, which must take effect from January 2021. It Algemeen Dagblad has the listed the most important fines. Due to the inflation adjustment, most fines increase by € 5 to € 10. The increase is less than last year, when the amounts increased by 2.7 percent. The final amounts, with the exception of speeding fines, have been rounded.
If you are caught overtaking on the right, you will pay € 250 instead of € 240 next year. When turning without a direction indicator, you now have to pay € 100 compared to € 95 in 2020. The difference is much smaller for speeding fines. By way of illustration: speeding 10 km / h on the highway will cost you € 65 in 2021, an increase of € 1 compared to this year.
