At Triumph, when you think of Limited Editions with a link to the US, you quickly think of yet another “Steve McQueen” special, but the British have collaborated with more celebrities in the past. This also applies to stuntman and legend Evel Knievel, which has now resulted in the Rocket 3 Evel Knievel Limited Editions.
Produced in just 500 units, the new Rocket 3 R and GT Evel Knievel Limited Editions honor the long-standing relationship between Triumph and Knievel, from his first television appearance on a Bonneville T120 to his groundbreaking leap over the fountains at Caesars Palace.
The Limited Editions are equipped with fully chrome fuel tanks and are inspired by Knievel’s iconic white jumpsuit, decorated with Knievel’s signature ‘stars and stripes’ on a crisp white background. The matching bodywork and contrasting matte Sapphire Black side panels are teamed with stylish leather seats with Evel Knievel’s signature logo embroidered in gold, creating a bold, imposing look.
Each motorcycle comes with a unique home screen animation and an individually numbered black and gold valve cover plaque with the Evel Knievel logo lasered onto it. Each owner will also receive an exclusive hardcover collector’s edition book about the story of Evel Knievel and his Triumphs, featuring their motorcycle’s unique serial number.
“Evel Knievel performed many stunts on Triumph motorcycles in the 1960s, but his jump at Caesars Palace on a T120 TT was the moment he elevated himself into a legend that has inspired generations of fans. In collaboration with the Knievel family, we have created two striking Limited Editions that will be as spectacular on the road as Evel Knievel was in his heyday. Only 250 copies of each model are available worldwide, with beautiful Knievel design touches and a special accompanying book about his achievements with Triumph, these Rocket 3 Limited Editions are sure to appeal to collectors, fans and the thrill-seekers among us.”
The iconic red, white and blue livery, incorporating the American stars and stripes, adorns the stunning chrome fuel tank and continues to the front fender, where it is incorporated into a new EK graphic, while elegant gold signature graphics adorn the radiator shrouds.
The exclusive color scheme, with Pure White accents and a layer of contrasting Matt Sapphire Black on the fly screen, headlight housing, fenders, side panels and rear fairing, emphasizes the motorcycle’s powerful presence. The premium leather seat features a gold-embroidered Evel Knievel signature and a recessed brushed aluminum Triumph badge, while a Knievel animation on the home screen provides a special welcome every time the 2,500cc three-cylinder engine is started.
Each owner will also receive an exclusive collector’s edition hardcover book, specially commissioned by Triumph, that tells the remarkable story of Evel Knievel and his iconic bond with the brand. Written by renowned author and Knievel expert Stuart Barker, each book is individually numbered to match the motorcycle and signed by Triumph CEO Nick Bloor – a valuable collector’s item for any Triumph and Knievel fan.
