Triumph has rolled out a recall for the new Trident. The sidestand can sag over time and use, causing the bike on the sidestand to lean more than designed for and could even tip over in a worst-case scenario.
Immediately after its launch in March last year, the Triumph warranty department recognized the problem of a sidestand deflection and initiated an investigation that the sidestand did not meet material specifications and could cause it to bend over time.
In the worst case scenario, this could cause the bike to tilt so much that it becomes unstable, with the result that it falls over when you put it on the sidestand.
At the Triumph dealer, the sidestand will be replaced with one that has been manufactured to material specifications. According to Triumph, approximately 1% of production is estimated to have this defect.
