A smartphone can use the so-called location facility to keep track of where the user is. Turn the GPS off or on if it comes in handy.

Smartphones and the apps on the phones collect a lot of information about the user. Also where the phone has been. At least, if the GPS is on. In certain situations it is useful if the GPS is on. For example, if the user wants to navigate with Google Maps or Maps, or if he uses a walking app. But the location service does not always have to be on. Turn GPS on or off at any time.
