If you are in possession of a set of AirPods, you will probably wonder how you can disable these earphones and headphones. There is no on-out button on the AirPods, so you can manually switch off the AirPods? No, but they are automatically switched off via a smart mode.
Apple has deliberately not made a physical on-out button to make the use of the AirPods as simple as possible. That is why all models have a special energy -saving mode that is automatically activated when you do not use them. As a result, the battery life is not shortened if you do not use it.
Turn off AirPods and AirPods Pro
If you do not use the AirPods or AirPods Pro, it is best to place them in the charging case. The connection is then automatically broken, the AirPods are placed and charged in standby mode.
When you remove the AirPods from the case, they will immediately be switched on and connected to your Apple device. Even if you do not play music, the AirPods will be active and, for example, listen to voice commands and apply active noise reduction.
Turn off Airpods Max
The AirPods Max also has no on-out button and you are dependent on the Smart Case to place the AirPods Max in a special energy saving mode. If you do not use the headphones, it is best to place it immediately in the Smart Case. This ensures that the headphones automatically break the active Bluetooth connection. However, Bluetooth remains actively looking for my function to be able to find a lost headphone via ‘Search for my AirPods’.
The Ultra-Energy Surrender ensures that Bluetooth and looking for my function also go out completely, so that the battery is the least loaded. The Max can automatically activate both positions, but it does happen faster when using the supplied Smart Case.
For example, the energy saving mode is automatically activated after 5 minutes or immediately when you place it in the Smart Case. The Ultra-Energiezezigigand is automatically activated when it is stored in the Smart Case for 18 hours. If you do not do this, the mode will only be activated after 72 hours.
