The blue check marks are read receipts in WhatsApp. Do you not want interlocutors to receive reading receipts from you? Then uncheck the blue check marks.
Check marks in WhatsApp
Gray or blue . appear after sending a message in WhatsApp check marks. Blue check marks mean that the recipient has read your message and others will also see when you have read or opened a message. Would you rather not have interlocutors receive reading receipts? Then uncheck the blue boxes.
Turn off blue checks on Android device
- Open the WhatsApp app.
- Tap the “Menu” icon at the top right. These are the three dots.
- Tap on Institutions.
- Tap on Account.
- Tap on Privacy.
- Tap the slider at the very bottom behind ‘Read receipts’. It is now gray.
Conversation partners will no longer see blue ticks in your conversations.
Turn off blue checks on iPhone
- Open the WhatsApp app.
- Tap at the bottom right Institutions.
- Tap on Account.
- Tap on Privacy.
- At the bottom, behind ‘Read receipts’, tap the switch. It is now gray.
Conversation partners will no longer see blue ticks in your conversations.
