Twice special: Porsche All-Terrain Competition Study

The American Singer Vehicle Design has presented two very special 911s on behalf of a customer. The two modernized 911 of the 964 generation have been transformed into true rally bangers.

Singer has engaged former rally driver and Porsche fanatic Richard Tuthill to work on not one, but two Porsche 911s for a customer in a very special way. Singer has converted two Porsche 911 (964) dating back to 1990 so that they can be driven off-road. The pair, conducted under the title All-Terrain Competition Study, comes in two flavors. The white copy is intended for high speed hunting through the desert, the red 911 has to hold its own especially on asphalt.

Extensive technical specifications are kept by Singer, but fortunately the photos of the special 911 duo are already worthwhile. Singer has of course put the 911s higher on their feet and says he has further strengthened the chassis thoroughly. The dampers are adjustable. Various body parts are made of carbon fiber and the now permanent four-wheel drive 911s get a 3.6-liter six-cylinder boxer engine with two turbos at the rear, good for a power of at least 450 hp and 570 Nm. Indeed, they are just air-cooled machines. Shifting is done through a sequential transmission with five gears.

The 911s are on special 16-inch alloy with BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires folded around it. A set of extra powerful brakes and a hydraulic handbrake are available to not only slow the 911s quickly, but also to throw them right through the corner. Singer provides the special pair with a large fuel tank, scoops a spare wheel in the front and rear and installs, among other things, a roll cage, an extensive navigation system, racing seats and a drinking system for the driver and navigator in the 911s. What undoubtedly exorbitant amount was put on the table for the 911s, Singer does not mention.
