Two thirds (66 percent) of the owners of an electric car in the Netherlands have a charging station at home. In total, this concerns about 80,000 charging stations at home in the Netherlands.
Research agency Multiscope comes with that number, based on a survey of 6,000 Dutch people. Almost a third (30 percent) of home charging stations are NewMotion, followed by EVBox (17 percent) and Tesla (15 percent). Installing such a charging station costs about € 1,200. If you multiply that by the number of charging stations, you will find that Dutch consumers have invested around € 100 million in it. In any case, it saves them a bit of driving and walking: a public charging spot is on average 313 meters from the home of an owner of an electric car.
It is also known what is paid on average for topping up the electric car at home. On average, owners pay € 924 per year in charging costs. This includes costs for charging at home, charging at work and charging at public charging points. A total of € 125 million is spent per year on loading. 61 percent of these costs are paid by employers.
