Apple Watch outdated
Do you still have an old Apple Watch in use? Then we have bad news, because Apple has added another device to the list of outdated products. The company regards the Apple Watch Series 1 as outdated. Outdated devices are no longer produced for more than seven years. The Apple Watch Series 1 appeared in 2016 and is no longer available in stores since 2018.
The Apple Watch Series 1 – as the name may suggest – is not the first generation of the smartwatch. It appeared a year earlier, with a slower processor and lesser specifications. The Apple Watch Series 1 had the S1P chip and a housing of 38 or 42 millimeters. Do you still have this Apple Watch and do you want to have repairs carried out at the housing? That is no longer possible, because Apple has put the smartwatch on the list of outdated products.
Apple stops repairs
It is not without consequences that Apple has labeled the Apple Watch Series 1 as outdated. Five years after the last sale of a product, Apple stops delivering spare parts. With outdated products, the company goes one step further, because then Apple also stops carrying out repairs. That is now the case with the Apple Watch Series 1, Apple no longer offers repairs for the smartwatch.
So be careful if you still use an Apple Watch Series 1 or have it at home, because that smartwatch can no longer go to Apple for repairs. The company rarely carries out repairs at the Apple Watch, usually the smartwatch is completely replaced. That too is no longer happening at the Apple Watch Series 1, because the device is no longer produced or is available in stores for more than seven years.
Buy a new Apple Watch
Do you have an Apple Watch Series 1? In that case you have to be even more careful with the smartwatch, because Apple no longer offers repairs for the Apple Watch Series 1. That is especially important if your smartwatch has a battery that is due for replacement, or if the screen is defective. Apple no longer carries out these repairs, so you have to go to a third party for any replacement parts.
