Apple has released a new update for your iPhone. iOS 26.2 beta 3 contains several improvements and new features.
iOS 26.2 beta 3: new features
Just update! A new update for iOS 26.2 has been released. Beta 3 of iOS 26.2 contains a number of interesting new features. We have listed the most important ones for you!
AirDrop improvements
Apple has given AirDrop new features. This makes it easier to share files with someone you don’t have as a contact. You do this by generating a one-time AirDrop code. With this code you can exchange files via AirDrop for 30 days.
Hypertension reports
Other apps can now view the hypertension data (if you have given permission for this). Useful if you have a medical app that wants to use this data to send notifications.
Adjustments for the Side Button
Apple has added a new feature that allows iPhone users in Japan to choose a different voice assistant and add it to the Side Button. This makes it possible to set up alternative assistants such as Gemini or Alexa on the iPhone instead of Siri.
Additional information for the Games app and reminders
The Games and Reminders apps have received a minor update. With both apps you will now see a home screen that shows the new features in iOS 26.2.
Installing beta 3 of iOS 26.2 on your iPhone: this is how you do it
Installing beta 3 is quite easy. But it is important that you make a backup of your iPhone beforehand. You do this by opening ‘Settings’ and then tapping your iCloud account. Then choose ‘Backup in iCloud’ and ‘Backup now’.
Once you’ve done that, here’s how to install the iOS 26.2 beta:
- Open the ‘Settings’ on your iPhone;
- Go to ‘General’ and tap ‘Software update’;
- Under ‘Beta updates’, select ‘iOS 26 Developer beta’;
- Tap ‘Previous’ (the arrow to the left);
- Install the update.
Please note that you must have a developer account to install this beta. You can create this for free via the Developer website of Apple.
Final update: please be patient
