Use Snapchat’s new 3D Stickers in 5 steps

From today you can decorate your Snapchat videos with the brand new 3D Stickers, which let you stick an emoji on an object so that it moves with it. How do you use this new feature? We show you how it works.

Before going through the steps below, it is important to check that you have the most recent version of Snapchat. From version 9.28.0.0 you can use the 3D Stickers. Also important to remember is that you can only stick the sticker after recording a video. It is therefore not the same as a lens that you activate before recording.

Using Snapchat 3D stickers: this is how it works

  1. Open Snapchat and record a video;
  2. Now tap on the icon at the top right of the screen that looks like a piece of paper with a fold in it (next to the letter T);
  3. Choose an emoji that you want to use;
  4. Use your fingers to resize and put the 3D Sticker in the right place;
  5. Give Snapchat a moment to put the emoji in the video.

Because the 3D Sticker moves with the object, it is smart not to move your camera too quickly. This ensures a better result and prevents the emoji from suddenly jumping. In addition to the above step-by-step plan, there are some other fun things you can do with the 3D Stickers. For example, you can place multiple emoji at the same time, for example to give faces to multiple objects or people. Incidentally, the object on which you stick a sticker does not have to be continuously on screen.
