View Dropbox storage

The online storage service Dropbox gives its users a limited amount of free storage space. See how much space is still available.


View the storage space via the website as follows:

  • Go to www.dropbox.com
  • click on To register and log in.
  • Click on your profile picture or initials at the top right.

Under the username is how many MB or GB is in use.

If Dropbox is installed on the computer, the user can see how much storage space they have already used on this device.

  • In the Notification area (on the right side of the Taskbar), click the Dropbox icon. Is the icon not visible? First click on the arrow to show all icons.

  • Click the icon of a circle with letters in the top right. Which letters there are depends on your account name.

The pop-up window that appears will tell you how many MB or GB of total storage space is in use.

If Dropbox is installed on the Mac, the user can see how much storage space they have already used on this device.

  • Click the Dropbox icon at the top of the menu bar.
  • Click on the icon of a circle with a letter in it. The letters shown here depend on your account name.

Here’s how to see how much storage space is being used in the Dropbox app:

  • Open the Dropbox app.
  • Tap the icon with three dashes in the top left.

Below the username is the percentage of the available storage space being used.

  • Tap at the bottom Account.

Under ‘Used storage’ you can see what percentage of the available storage space is in use.
