Last year the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este was canceled, just like almost all other classic events in 2020. This year must be different, but to be sure the famous event has already been postponed.
An event like the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este is all about tradition. Since 1929, the world-famous concours d’élégance has been held annually in the month of May, but the corona virus also put a stop to that. However, there is hope: Villa d’Este 2021 will continue, but later in the year.
At least that is the intention. Last year there also seemed to be a postponement in March, but that was later really converted into cancellation. Covid-19 made sure that even the unshakable competition of Villa d’Este had to be absent for one year.
This year, the situation does not look bright again, but the organization keeps its courage. A competition in May seems a bit too ambitious, but on October 1, 2 and 3 it really has to happen. So for the first time in autumn, and that should create a unique atmosphere there in Italy.
