The Vietnamese Vinfast postpones its European market introduction. The ambitious car manufacturer was supposed to market its electric goods in Europe this year, but is forced to come to Europe only at the beginning of 2023.

Some ambition cannot be denied to the Vietnamese manufacturer VinFast. The company presented a whole arsenal of new electric models during the Consumer Electronics Show at the beginning of this year. From the VF 5 to the VF 6 and from the VF 7, to the VF 8 and VF 9. The VF 8 and VF 9 are currently the most interesting for the Netherlands. These are the first EVs from Vinfast to come to our country. But later than planned.

Jean-Christophe Mercier, the chief executive of VinFast’s European branch, tells Automotive News that VinFast has had to postpone its European market debut due to the worldwide shortage of microchips. VinFast is said to be in talks with its suppliers to get the export of cars to Europe back on track as soon as possible. Together with France and Germany, the Netherlands belongs to the short list of European countries where VinFast is the first to market its cars. VinFast will open its first Dutch ‘store’ in Amsterdam this year.
