Apple’s headset is really cool, but not everything works equally well. For example, virtual typing is still quite annoying on the Apple Vision Pro. But why?
Virtual typing on the Vision Pro – better not do that
The fact that you sometimes need to be able to type something is of course also useful with ultra-modern glasses such as the Apple Vision Pro. Yet something so simple turns out to be quite difficult.
Usually reliable Apple expert Mark Gurman recently made a comment on X (formerly Twitter) about virtual typing on the Apple Vision Pro. He found it extremely annoying in the current version. You type with one finger at a time, just as if you were learning to type for the first time.
You cannot type in ‘air’ on the Vision Pro, but it is possible to look at a letter and then pinch it with your fingers. The Apple expert concluded that it is better to buy a Bluetooth keyboard.
Apple Vision Pro: the official release
Apple has already revealed the release date of the Vision Pro! On Friday February 2, 2024 Apple’s first VR glasses appear in stores. The pre-order starts two weeks before, so the Vision Pro is available from now on Friday January 19, 2024 to order. This means that the headset will finally be available in stores soon.
There is a big drawback here, because the Vision Pro is currently only available in Apple Stores in the United States. But do not be sad. According to usually reliable Apple expert Ming Chi Kuo, Apple plans to release the Vision Pro abroad before WWDC.
Apple organizes WWDC every year in June, so that means the headset will come to other countries before the summer. The Vision Pro will first come to major countries such as France and Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium will probably follow later. Hopefully Apple has improved typing on the Vision Pro a bit.
