There is a new generation Volkswagen Golf and that means that the countdown to a series of sporty versions can begin. Volkswagen will of course again come with a GTI and also a GTE and GTD will strengthen the Golf range. At the top of the list, the brand parks an R again, a version that has now surfaced almost publicly.
Last week Volkswagen announced the arrival of the new Golf GTD, a sporty diesel version that will most likely have a 200-horsepower diesel heart as a power station. The menu is also expanded with a 245 horsepower GTI and that means that the regular new Golf GTI is just as powerful as the performance version of its predecessor. At the top of the power ladder is a new Golf R, a car that now has no outer secrets.
The previous Golf R pressed 310 hp from a 2.0 TSI. According to previously leaked information, the new Golf R comes to no less than 334 hp. Most likely, that power again comes from a blown 2.0, a machine that distributes power across all four wheels.
On this new set of espionage plates you can see the characteristic exhaust pipes, two on either side of the rear bumper. The muzzle of the Golf R is characterized, among other things, with its front openings with large openings. We expect the new Golf R to be on the market in the second half of this year.
