1,100 Dutch orders

Even before the first copies of the ID Buzz have been delivered, Volkswagen seems to have hit the sales rose with its electric bus. About two-thirds of the total copies to be built this year have already been sold.
According to the German Automobilwoche, more than 10,000 copies of the electric Volkswagen ID Buzz have already been ordered in Europe. Mind you, Volkswagen did not open the order books of the ID Buzz until the end of May. In total, Volkswagen would produce about 15,000 copies of its electric bus this year. That means that about two-thirds of the total annual production of 2022 has already been sold.
Electric cars are very popular in Norway, so it’s not surprising that the ID Buzz is very popular in that country. Of the 10,000 copies of the ID Buzz already ordered in Europe, about 3,400 order forms have been signed in Norway. The ID Buzz is also doing quite well in Volkswagen’s home country of Germany, where 2,500 units have already been ordered. Order intake is also going well in the Netherlands. In our country, 1,100 copies of the ID Buzz would have been ordered, so the Netherlands has so far accounted for about ten percent of the total number of European pre-orders. The production capacity of the ID Buzz will be significantly higher next year with 60,000 units, Automobilwoche reports.
In the Netherlands, the ID Buzz currently has a starting price of €69,990, although it is directly related to the version with 77-kWh battery and 204 hp electric motor, performed as the 1st so-called introduction model. Cheaper passenger car versions and the ID Cargo commercial vehicle variant will follow later.
