Volkswagen Polo as R-Line Edition

The Volkswagen Polo gets an action model. The Volkswagen Polo R-Line Edition should make the sought-after R-Line exterior package more accessible.

With a tougher front and rear bumper, more black accents and a larger roof spoiler, an R-Line exterior package lifts a normal Polo optically almost to the level of the fast GTI. The exterior package was already standard on the Highline Business R and was an option of € 618 on other versions.

However, combining the basic version Comfortline with R-Line is not possible. That is the hole in which the new R-Line Edition seems to dive. Compared to the Comfortline, the newcomer offers the R-Line exterior package (not the interior), 16-inch Sebring alloy and dark-tinted windows at the rear.

The R-Line Edition is available from € 22,790, which brings the additional price compared to an otherwise similarly equipped Comfortline to € 500. That seems like a great deal, especially since the R-Line package without the dark windows and light metal normally already € 618 costs. Volkswagen therefore speaks of a discount of € 1,775. In addition to a manual gearbox, the R-Line Edition is also available with a DSG automatic transmission, then for € 24,790. In all cases, a 1.0 TSI with 95 hp is fitted.
