Volkswagen Tiguan gets Golf front

The second generation Tiguan, presented in 2016, is about to go under the knife. Thanks to Wilco Blok’s Instagram account, we can already show you the front of the updated version.

The Tiguan was shown to the public at the Frankfurt IAA in 2016 and was presented to Dutch dealers the following year. Volkswagen considers the time ripe for a facelift, all the more so because the car whose Tiguan is in fact the SUV brother, the Golf, was recently renewed. It is therefore not surprising that Volkswagen gives the front view of the revised Tiguan a design element of the new Golf.

On the front of this Tiguan we see headlights whose layout is very similar to that of the Golf VIII. In addition to the headlights, the grille is also being overhauled, which now runs under the ‘viewers’ and also under the front bumper on this – possibly R-Line – Tiguan. What is going to change on a technical level cannot yet be said with certainty. It is not inconceivable that Volkswagen also installs the 1.5 TSI with mild-hybrid technology in the updated Tiguan. And, would that Tiguan R really come there later?
