Volkswagen Tiguan now also as a plug-in hybrid

Volkswagen is adding the eHybrid version of the Tiguan to the range. A plug-in hybrid, which is at the top in terms of power in one fell swoop.

The Volkswagen Tiguan, renewed last year, has been available for a while, but not yet with a partly electric powertrain. That will now change with the arrival of the Tiguan eHybrid. It has a 1.4 TSI as a petrol power source, in combination with an electric motor. The system power that the Tiguan can speak to is 245 hp. The maximum torque is 400 Nm. This makes it immediately the strongest Tiguan you can order.

Although you can of course also use it more economically than in the Tiguan with only the 1.5 TSI, you can also use it more sporty. In ‘GTE mode’ a sprint from 0 to 100 km / h is completed in 7.5 seconds. Not entirely unimportant: fully electric you can travel 47 kilometers with it, according to the WLTP cycle. You can recharge at the wallbox or a public charging point with 3.6 kW charging capacity and then you are ready in 3 hours and 40 minutes. If you want to hang a cart behind it, you can pull up to 1,800 kilos.

The fact that the Tiguan eHybrid is the most powerful version is emphasized by Volkswagen by standardizing it as R-line Business +. In addition to the extra sporty exterior, 19-inch wheels and sports seats, you also have access to things such as LED matrix lighting, progressive steering and the most extensive ‘Digital Cockpit Pro’ digital instruments and the ‘Discover Media’ navigation system. The price of the Tiguan eHybrid: € 46,690. This also makes it the most expensive Tiguan with a petrol engine on board, but the diesel versions are more expensive. You can order directly.
