The fully electric Volvo EX90 gets a more modest Single Motor version. The rear-wheel drive Volvo EX90 is a bit less strong than the EX90 as we knew it until now, but it is also a lot less expensive. The starting prices for the EX90 Twin Motor are also going down thanks to new versions.
The Volvo EX90 was presented at the end of last year with two electric motors on board and with four-wheel drive, but of course it would not stop at those 408 to 517 hp Twin Motor versions. Volvo is now adding the EX90 Single Motor to the range, which is of course a bit less expensive. Where prices for the Volvo EX90 Twin Motor start at €88,995, the Volvo EX90 Single Motor is available from €83,495. An advantage of more than €5,000, although you have to sacrifice some power for that. The Volvo EX90 Single Motor has one 279 hp and 490 Nm strong electric motor on the rear axle. Volvo does not yet report how smoothly the EX90 is with this. It is known that with the EX90 Single Motor you can tow up to 1,200 kilos, where with the Twin Motor it is up to 2,200 kilos.
The Volvo EX90 Single Motor has a slightly smaller battery pack, with a capacity of 104 kWh. A small difference with the gross capacity of 111 kWh in the Twin Motor versions. The Single Motor is slightly more efficient (19.9 kWh/100 km) and comes almost as far with it. The range of the Volvo EX90 Single Motor is up to 580 km (WLTP), where the Twin Motor can reach up to 585 km.
The starting price of €83,495 is for the EX90 Single Motor as Core, the new standard version. It distinguishes itself, among other things, from the more luxurious, also new Plus version, by various matt black instead of high-gloss black accents. In the interior you have less mood lighting and you have to do without a head-up display and a Bose sound system with fourteen speakers, although the EX90 already has a 325W strong system over ten speakers as standard. The Volvo EX90 Single Motor costs as Plus €87,995, an additional cost of €4,500.
The Twin Motor versions now also have a lower starting price, thanks to the arrival of the Core and Plus version. They were previously only available as Ultra. The starting price of the Volvo EX90 Twin Motor drops in one fell swoop by €10,200 and that of the Volvo EX90 Twin Motor Performance by €5,700. You can order immediately.
