Volvo never sold so many cars before

Volvo had a fantastic month in March. Never before has Volvo sold so many cars worldwide. Record time!

Volvo managed to capture a share of over 8 percent of Dutch registrations in March. A record for the brand. But that wasn’t the only record Volvo set in March. March was also the month in which Volvo broke its own sales record. It sold 78,970 cars worldwide, a whopping 25 percent more than in the same month last year. Of those almost 80,000 copies, 23 percent were fully electric Volvos.

In Europe, Volvo saw sales increase by 33 percent in March. The result: 39,756 cars sold. Of these, almost 40 percent were completely electric (14,967 units). In the United States, Volvo’s sales increased by a significant 50 percent, although less than half as many cars were sold as in Europe (15,315 units). In China, Volvo sold 14,005 cars, 21 percent more than in March last year.

The Volvo EX30 has undoubtedly contributed to the growth figures, although the now seven-year-old XC60 was still the most popular model. Of these, more than 22,400 units left the showroom, more than 4,000 more than in the same month in 2023. The XC60 accounted for more than 28 percent of Volvo’s international sales. The XC40 finished in second place with 20,557 registrations. The very young XC90 also did well with 10,826 units sold. The SUV finished in third place.
