iOS 16 brings a series of important improvements to the Apple Wallet app, with which the ease of use and functionality have been considerably expanded. The most important renewal is the new display for boarding passes with live flight information.
In addition, the Wallet app can now also search in your e-mails to Track & Trace information about packages and add them automatically to the Wallet app, so that you can follow packages via this app. We list the innovations for you.
Boarding passes with live flight information
It has always been possible to add your boarding map of a flight to Wallet, but from iOS 26, Apple has completely renewed the representation of boarding passes. From now on the passes have a new look and show more context, such as links to floor plans and current information about your gate, delays or changes.

If desired, you can follow a linked airtag to track your luggage. In the event of loss you can communicate directly with the airline via Wallet.
With the help of live activities you can receive real -time flight updates on the access screen of your iPhone. With the push of a button you can share this information with friends or family, so that they can easily and quickly follow the status of your flight in real time.
Follow packages with Wallet
Required Apple Intelligence and is available in Dutch from the end of 2025
It was already possible to follow packages with the Wallet app if you had paid it with Apple Pay and the webshop in question had support for the Wallet application. From iOS 26, Apple has expanded this function with the help of Apple Intelligence.
The Wallet app can now automatically retrieve order information from your e-mails, regardless of whether you have paid with Apple Pay or not. With the help of AI, confirmation emails from web shops and carriers are scanned. You will then see all your orders and status updates – including track & trace – well -arranged within Wallet. This makes Wallet a central hub for all your online purchases and delivery. This way you will automatically receive notifications about deliveries, without having to use extra apps.

- Open the Wallet app
- Tap the three dots
- Choose ‘orders’
- View the overview
When Wallet has found an order in Mail, they will be automatically added to the wallet. Do you not want this? Then you can switch it off via Settings â–¸ Wallet and Apple Pay â–¸ Keep orders â–¸ Switch off the desired options.
Save credit card data
From iOS 26 you can easily store your credit card details safely in Wallet. When you store your data in this system, they are automatically filled in with online purchases and in apps, which reduces the chance of errors in manual overyping.
- Open settings
- Navigate to ‘Wallet and Apple Pay’
- Tap ‘Fill in cards automatically’
- Choose ‘Add card’
- Scan the card or enter the data manually

For example, when you click on a website in Safari a field for credit card details, the option ‘Fill in credit card automatically appears above the keyboard or your storage cards will be available. You choose the desired credit card, after which the data is automatically placed in the form.
Scan payment cards
To add a payment card to Apple Pay, you can now simply scan the card with the camera of your iPhone. The card data is entered securely and automatically, after which you only have to confirm the CVC code and any additional verification. This was already possible in other countries, but from iOS 26 this is also supported in the Netherlands and Belgium.
