Apple has released an update for the Apple Watch! Curious about what is changing? These are the new functions of Watchos 11.3.

Just update! A new software version is available for the Apple Watch. With Watchos 11.3, Apple brings few changes to the smartwatch, but you do get a new dial. This background is all about Black History Month. The dial is part of Apple’s new collection and has the name Unity Rhythm. This collection is composed of the colors black, green and red.
That is of course no coincidence, because those are the colors of the Pan African flag. With Watchos 11.3 you get the new dial automatically. It is a dynamic dial, which moves as soon as you lift your wrist. When you look at the Apple Watch, black, green and red lines show what hour it is at that time. That’s not all, because with the Unity Rhythm-Wijzerplaat you hear every (half) hour of rhythmic sounds when you have switched on the sound.
This is how you install Watchos 11.3
Furthermore, Apple mainly makes improvements in the security of the Apple Watch with Watchos 11.3. It is not known exactly what changes that are. Apple has the update on Monday, January 27, 2025 rolled out for all users. That means that you can now install the latest software version on your Apple Watch or may have already installed it.
You can find Watchos 11.3 in the Watch app on your iPhone. Go to ‘General> Software Update’ and tap ‘Install NOW’. Don’t see the update? The newest software version is only available for the Apple Watch Series 6 and Nieuwerer, the Apple Watch Ultra (2) and the Apple Watch SE 2022. To install the update you need an iPhone XS or newer, which runs on iOS 18.3. That’s not all, because your Apple Watch must be at least 50 percent charged and lie on the charger.

Apple not only released Watchos 11.3 on Monday 27 January, also for the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac (book) and the HomePod have been rolled out new software versions. With iOS 18.3 and iPados 18.3, Apple brings the new Unity Rhythm-Backgrounds to the iPhone and iPad. In addition, a handy function returns to the calculator and Apple solves a number of software problems.
To install Watchos 11.3, you must first update iPhone to iOS 18.3, so make sure that your iPhone is updated to the latest software version. With iOS 18.3 and iPados 18.3, Apple is implementing relatively small changes.
