Watchos 12
This year Watchos 12 is the most important update for the Apple Watch. With the new software version, new dials, sports functions and health features will probably come to your Apple Watch. According to new rumors, that is not all, because Apple is said to work on an adapted design for Watchos. We may see this redesign later this year at Watchos 12.
It is expected that Watchos 12 will take over many elements from Visionos. That means that we will see more transparent frameworks with rounded corners in the operating system. With the Redesign, all buttons, menus and icons of applications are renewed in Watchos 12. The software on your Apple Watch therefore probably looks completely different after installing the update.
Apple Intelligence
According to these rumors, the redesign is not the only improvement in Watchos 12. Allegedly, Apple Intelligence comes to the Apple Watch with the software update for the first time. At the moment the AI ​​functions are only available on the iPhone, iPad and Mac (book). The Apple TV and the Apple Watch have no support yet, but that will probably change in the latter later this year.
Almost all new Apple devices work with Apple Intelligence, with the exception of the iPad 2025. It is expected that the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is the first smartwatch with support for Apple Intelligence. That would mean a major update for the advanced Apple Watch, because 8 GB of memory is a requirement for all functions of Apple Intelligence. Now all Apple Watches only have 1 GB RAM, so that will be much more for the next generation of the smartwatch.
Release of Watchos 12
A large part of all Apple Intelligence functions will come to the Apple Watch Ultra 3 later this year. These are features such as summarizing reports, Genmoji and the renewed version of Siri. In addition, the smartwatch uses Apple Intelligence for analyzing sleep, heart and sports data. With Watchos 12, not only a redesign comes to the Apple Watch, but the smartwatch also gets many functions.
