Apple has released a new software version for your Apple Watch. WatchOS 9.1 is now available.
watchOS 9.1 is now available to download for your Apple Watch
Last night it happened. Apple rolled out watchOS 9 in addition to iOS 16.1, iPadOS 16 and macOS Ventura! This update contains a few new functions for your Apple Watch, one of which is very nice: the battery life of your smart watch is getting a bit better. In addition, there is better support for downloading songs from Apple Music.
What’s new in this watchOS
The new software version of your Apple Watch is specifically aimed at improving your battery life. This one has gotten better during exercise and walking. On your Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2022 and Apple Watch Ultra, your smartwatch ensures that heart rate and GPS measurements are taken less frequently. As a result, you should be able to use watchOS 9.1 longer with one battery charge.
Other useful software features are in the apps. For example, Apple Music can download while the Apple Watch is removed from the charger via Wi-Fi (or via mobile internet). In addition, Matter is finally supported. This is the new standard for smart home connectivity. Also nice: your Watch will work more stable again.
Install and Download WatchOS 9.1
To download and install watchOS 9.1, you need at least an Apple Watch Series 4 or higher. You do this by going to the Settings app on your Apple Watch, tapping “General” and choosing “Software Update”. The same step-by-step plan applies to your iPhone. Then you don’t do it via your general settings, but via the Watch app.
