Google is now rolling out a new design for the web version of the Play Store. The new look is now much more like the app and the Play Store looks a lot more modern. The new interface has been adapted for all screen sizes.
Play Store interface
Google is giving its Play Store website a fresh coat of paint to better match the Material You look of the Play Store on Android. The interface is lighter with less color use and more rounded corners. At the top you will see a navigation bar with the options: ‘Games’, ‘Apps’, ‘Movies’, ‘Books’ and ‘Kids’. You can see it via play.google.com
Then there is a filter option per device under ‘Apps’ and ‘Games’. For example, you can search for apps optimized for Chromebooks, but you can also search for apps for Wear OS, Android Auto or Android TV in one go. If you tap the Google account icon at the top right, you will be able to view your subscriptions and collected Play Points, among other things.

It seems logical that Google will allow users to filter on the renewed website based on the device where they want to use the apps. The company previously made it clear that tablets play an important role and apps optimized for large screens are also favored in the Play Store. In addition, it also became possible for Android TV users to install apps from their phone. The web version and smartphone app therefore serve more than ever as a central point where you manage Android apps on all your devices.
The new look of the Play Store is currently being rolled out worldwide, but it was only visible to my colleague Dim here in the editors.
