It is no secret that Apple wants to focus more and more on Smart Home products. We can expect homeOS later this year and possibly also a Smart Home Hub. New rumors indicate that Apple may start producing its own smart cameras in 2026.

The market for Smart Home cameras is large. For example, the Eufy security cameras, Arlo camera and the Hue Secure camera are popular. However, Apple believes that the market is not yet saturated and they want to release their own smart IP camera in the long term.

AirTag 2nd generation with improved location determination may be expected in 2025

Although Apple has not shared any official figures, we can conclude that the AirTag is a success. The smart tracker is frequently linked to items so that you can determine its location.

The current generation of AirTag was released in 2021 and according to Analyst Ming Chi-kuo and Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, we can expect a new generation in 2025. There will probably be few design changes, but Bloomberg does report that the tracker will be equipped with a U2 chip.
