Last week a rumor emerged that Apple may have virtually halted production of the iPhone Air due to low sales figures and we shared rumors about the new Apple TV 4K. In addition, Google has permanently discontinued their Nest Thermostats in Europe.

According to various rumors, we can expect a new Apple TV 4K this year. This media box from Apple reportedly has a new processor and WiFi 6E or WiFi 7 support. In addition, it is possible that the Apple TV will also have a built-in camera for video calling.

Since tvOS 17 you can use FaceTime on the Apple TV. To make video calls, the camera of a linked device such as an iPhone is used. Apple may want to add a camera standard for this feature.

Apple would like to skip the iPhone 19 completely and go straight to the iPhone 20 in 2027 to mark the iPhone’s 20th anniversary. This is evident from statements by analyst Heo Moo-yeol of research agency Omdia during a conference in Seoul. The reporting is based on sources from the South Korean technology industry and should be regarded as speculative for the time being.

In 2017, in honor of the iPhone’s 10th anniversary, the company decided to skip the iPhone 9 and instead introduced the iPhone With 2027 being the 20th anniversary of the original iPhone, Apple appears to be considering adopting a similar strategy by jumping straight to the iPhone 20

If you own a Nest thermostat, there is bad news to report. Last spring, Google decided to stop selling Nest thermostats in Europe from October 25, 2025; support is also limited.

Google says it will discontinue thermostats in Europe because heating systems in Europe are unique and have different requirements for both hardware and software. This makes it difficult for the search giant to develop suitable products. For that reason they have decided to focus on other markets.

Apple has drastically reduced production orders for the iPhone Air, according to Nikkei, to levels normally only seen when a product is close to being discontinued. This measure has been taken because demand for the ultra-thin iPhone Air appears to be much lower than expected, especially outside China, where the device only recently became available.

At the same time, Apple has increased production of other iPhone 17 models. While demand for the ultra-thin Air version is disappointing, the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max remain popular with consumers.
