WhatsApp will soon get a new feature that we wanted for much longer. This will change in the popular chat app.
WhatsApp gets a new function (which we had to wait a long time)
According to the website Wabainfo WhatsApp will soon get a new function. And on the iPhone we had to wait quite a long time for that. With the new function you can now set multiple accounts in WhatsApp.
You could already set a normal WhatsApp account and a WhatsApp Business account and use two accounts (with two separate apps). But the new way makes it possible, for example, to set two regular accounts on the same smartphone.
The function is now in the beta version of the app. Then it often takes a while before the position actually comes to the official version. At the moment it is only said that the function is added in a future update.
To set a second account in the beta version you can scan a QR code and connect it with your main account. Both accounts then have their own notifications, chats, backups, settings and more. And you can then easily switch between the two accounts that you have set in WhatsApp.
Meta, the parent company behind WhatsApp also has Instagram (and Facebook) in their portfolio. At Instagram it has been possible for some time to log in with two accounts. They probably also want to create more unity between all their apps.
WhatsApp gets a place in Meta account center
Meta recently also added WhatsApp to their account center. They say that the option to link WhatsApp to the account center is fully optional as standard, the option is also switched off. The company emphasizes that WhatsApp messages and calls remain encrypted end-to-end, regardless of whether you choose to add the app or not.
In the account center you can register with your already accounts, change your account settings and share your status updates. You can add Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, meta accounts to the same account center.
