A new photo or a funny picture: it is nice to change your profile photo of WhatsApp every now and then. But how do you actually do that? So grab our step -by -step plan!
WhatsApp profile photo change on iPhone
- Open WhatsApp on your iPhone;
- Go to the ‘Chats’ tab;
- Tap ‘Settings’ at the bottom right;
- Tap your name at the top of the screen;
- Under the current image, you tap ‘Edit’;
- Tap ‘edit’ at the top right;
- To use an existing photo, tap ‘Choose photo’. Do you want to take a new photo? Then you tap ‘Make photo’;
- Set the new photo.
WhatsApp profile photo: show or not show
Everyone you have on WhatsApp can see your profile picture. But you can also choose to only share your profile photo with certain contacts, or nobody. You set this in the following way.
- Tap ‘Settings’ in WhatsApp;
- Choose ‘privacy’;

Make sure the image is clearly visible and that the photo is of good quality. Avoid blurry or too dark photos, because they seem less professional or recognizable.
Show your personality
Your profile photo can say something about who you are. Do you like traveling? Choose a nice picture of your vacation. Disney fan? Use one of your favorite characters. Prefer Casual? A spontaneous selfie can also be fun!
Note the background
A calm, neutral background is often better. Too busy backgrounds distract, especially if the photo is quite small, such as with WhatsApp.
