WhatsApp test a new function that gives you more control over the chat notifications that are visible as standard. You need to know this.
WhatsApp comes with a new button
Chat notifications are the figures in the red balls that you sometimes see at the WhatsApp icon. They appear there when you have received new messages. According to Wabainfo In the near future this function will be arranged by a new button in the WhatsApp reporting institutions for iOS.
The new button in WhatsApp is called ‘Clear Badge’. The Dutch name is not yet known. We could call it something like ‘remove message’, because ‘badge’ is not common here. The ‘Clear Badge’ function is further described as follows: “Your home screen badge cleans complete after every time you open the app.” Freely translated: “The notifications/notifications that you see on the home screen are completely removed every time you open the app.”
Stress due to unread notifications
The new option, which is already available in WhatsApp for Android, must make the user’s home screen less messy. The stress that may also arise due to unread notifications must be reduced. Not everyone will be bothered by that, but it seems to be something that occurs with some regularity: Unread Anxiety. Anyway it is nice that you can soon decide for yourself whether you want to keep seeing those notifications after you have opened WhatsApp or not.
Wabetainfo also notes that the position may have already been published for some users in recent weeks. Probably for users who have the stable release from the App Store. For unclear reasons, WhatsApp then decided to eliminate the new function shortly after the first release.
The position is currently undergoing all kinds of beta tests via TestFlight. That is why you can expect that the new button will be rolled out somewhere in the coming days to all WhatsApp users worldwide.
