It doesn’t take long before the next large iPhone update appears. But when is iOS 18.4 coming out?
When will iOS 18.4 come to your iPhone? This is when you can update
Apple does not often give in advance when there is an update. Yet iOS 18.4 is one of the exceptions that they have done it. Apple even indicated in October that an update will be added in April.
In the meantime, IOS 18.3.2 is already official, so the next major update must be iOS 18.4. In fact, Apple itself already indicates when iOS 18.4 will appear. On the (English) website IOS 18 says that the upate is coming in April. In another Dutch support document you can read that in April many of the core functions of Apple Intelligence are being rolled out for iPhone and iPad users in the EU.
Apple indicates that the functions must appear at the beginning of April. That should be in the week of 7 April or the week after. It will probably not be much later.
These functions come to iOS 18.4
With iOS 18.4 a large number of functions come to the iPhone. The most important thing is that Apple Intelligence comes to the EU, but unfortunately not yet in Dutch. But of course there is many more innovations in the update. We do a small selection of the new functions.
Control panel gets new functions
The control panel is given new options to play background noises. With the update, Apple introduces regulators for music in the categories chill,, ” productivity,, ” trail and Wellbeing. You can add these options to the control panel, link to the action button of your iPhone or place it on your lock screen.
New Emoji
In addition, there are seven new emoji in iOS 18.4. Of these, the emoji of a face with bags under the eyes is probably the most striking.
Improvements for CarPlay
In addition, CarPlay gets some improvements. With larger displays, the CarPlay home screen shows more applications. Where in iOS 18.3 and previously two rows of apps are displayed as standard, there are three from iOS 18.4.
Tesla Superchargers are also added to CarPlay. It is therefore easier to navigate to charging points for electric vehicles.
