Why Jay Leno will never buy a Ferrari: ‘It’s like being beaten by a SM mistress’

Comedian Jay Leno – former host of The Tonight Show – has an impressive collection of cars, including a McLaren F1, a Porsche Carrera GT and a few classic Bugattis. There’s a reason he doesn’t have a single Ferrari in his collection. Leno refuses to buy one. And that has mainly to do with the arrogance of the manufacturer itself …

Why Jay Leno will never buy a Ferrari: ‘It’s like being beaten by a SM mistress’

Ferrari is not the most sympathetic brand. It sued a charity to get the rights to the model name Purosangue, blacklists motoring journalists for criticizing them, and even tries to restrict what buyers can do with their Ferraris.

Ferraris are great, but Jay Leno refuses to buy one

Collector Jay Leno – who has his own Youtube channel – doesn’t like Ferrari very much. He loves the cars, but refuses to buy one, mainly because he hates the customer experience. You have to buy several Ferraris to be able to buy the more expensive models and he thinks that is ridiculous.

Only if you like sm, buying a Ferrari is fine

Buying a Ferrari is only a pleasant experience if you like sadomasochism, says Leno. “It’s like rich men go to a sm-mistress. ‘Oh, she punched and kicked me hard all over the room, it was fantastic’. That’s fine, for some men. But I don’t like it. ”

McLaren and Porsche do make the buying experience fantastic

The American is full of praise for McLaren and Porsche, which make the buying experience fantastic. “You spend a lot of money on such a car, then you also want to be treated like a customer.” Ferraris are beautiful cars, Leno also thinks. “I just saw the new SF90. But I just don’t like dealing with the company and the dealers.”
